Optical Engineer

Description:

We have an immediate opening for an Optical Engineer who will be responsible for the optical design, optimization and manufacturing support of all precision lens assemblies.


Job Expectations:

  • Develop and support production builds of new and existing Opto-Mechanical lens assemblies.

  • Support optical assembly processes for existing products, including implementation of design changes, process improvements, troubleshooting and correction actions.

  • Interface with manufacturing, process engineering, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Support Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing efforts to develop and drive product and process improvements.

  • Understand manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process improvements of new and/or existing product lines.

Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optical Design.

  • Relevant and practical experience implementing design systems.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the opto-mechanical designs of precision assemblies.

  • Proficient in CodeV and Zemax.

  • Working knowledge and experience using CAD/Solidworks.

  • Positive reputation assisting customers and working with internal employees.
