EHS Manager

Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement and manage safety programs, policies and procedures as needed.
    Provide monthly metrics for each department and work with them to identify and correct areas of opportunity in a positive productive manner.

  • Direct activities of the Safety Trainer and the Safety Coordinator to support the plant objectives.

  • Prepare monthly safety performance reports including 12 month rolling safety chart (includes green card, first aid/near miss trends and recordable incidents), inspection audit summary, corporate metrics.

  • Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and recommend corrective measures.

  • Use 5-why’s to investigate all injuries, first aids, near misses and property losses.

  • Analyze data collected through first aid, near miss, internal/external Audits, green cards, etc to lead corrective actions.

  • Organize, oversee and track all plant safety training.

  • File and maintain SDS sheets

  • Assist in identifying appropriate personal protective equipment for all tasks.

  • Manage regulatory inspection personnel such as insurance carriers, OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience in an industrial setting. (Bachelor's Degree in EHS Management preferred)

  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations.

  • Experience implementing Behavioral Based Safety programs
